THE RITE
The project “THE RITE” by Alex Gallo; between art, dogma, supernatural and archaeological obscurity.
A brilliant artistic sharing through the surreal photographs by a magnificent and visionary Artist Alex Gallo and the ancient African masks of Fondazione Passarè; the first dialogue between the masks and the images of Neo-primitivism.
The Fondation Passarè is born in remembrance of Alessandro Passaré, doctor, patron and travel e sulla scena internazionale, come testimonia una grande tela di Matta del 1957 e una serie di dipinti e disegni di Wilfredo Lam.
The Foundation promotes the research and cultural initiatives concerning the Contemporary Art and especially the Primitive Art.
In regard to the second aspect, the Foundation puts effort into transmitting knowledge about the Primitive Art cultures and expressions, especially those which are connected to the African continent.
In addition to the Primitive Art of non-European cultures, mostly African ones, there is a priceless collection of Contemporary paintings.
Works by: Enrico Baj, Lucio Fontana, Tancredi, placed in the historical Avant-Garde (a canvas by the Futurist Oriani, a drawing by Carrà and a drawing by Pablo Picasso from 1970, shortly before his death) and on the international scene, a big canvas by Matta from 1957 and a series of paintings and drawings by Wifredo Lam.
Exhibited works “Mal d’Africa” in Sforza Castle – Milan.
The permanent exhibition in MUDEC Museo delle Culture, Milan.
